Helping you enjoy life with clear comfortable vision

At Coosaw Eye Center improving your eyesight is our business! Vision exams are provided by
Dr. Brett McNamara, a licensed South Carolina Optometrist, graduated with honors from Nova Southeastern College of Optometry.  An eye doctor provides comprehensive eye exams to seniors, families, and everyone in between.

During the comprehensive eye exam
, the eye doctor does more than just determine your prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses.  Dr. McNamara will also check your eyes for common eye diseases, assess how your eyes work together as a team and evaluate your eyes as an indicator of your overall health. All eye exams include a comprehensive check for eye diseases (such as glaucoma), allergies, and eye infections.

Children's Eyecare

Eye exams for children play an important role in ensuring normal vision development and academic achievement.

Vision is closely linked to the learning process.

Children who have trouble seeing or interpreting what they see will often have trouble with their schoolwork.

Many times, children will not complain of vision problems simply because they don't know what "normal" vision looks like.

If your child performs poorly at school or exhibits a reading or learning disability, an eye examination is the first step to correct the underlying cause.

When to get Examined

Dr. McNamara recommends annual eye exams as a part of your overall health screening process.

Is LASIK right for you?

A large percentage of nearsighted, farsighted, and astigmatic patients are potential candidates for LASIK. Patients with healthy eyes that are free from retinal problems, corneal scars, and any eye disease may be suitable. Ask Dr. McNamara if refractive surgery is right for you.
